The "Goof" apple is a rare, round, medium-sized apple variety featuring a pale green skin overlaid with deep purplish-red and faint yellow streaks, with crisp, juicy, and moderately subacid white flesh. The Goof apple It is preserved primarily by small specialty heritage orchards and historical pomological societies dedicated to keeping obscure, antique fruit genetics from going extinct. Detailed records of who first found or bred it have been lost to time. Grows in zones 5 through 8. Blooms midseason. Need another variety blooming at the same time such as White Pearmain, Gala, Golden Delicious, Grimes Golden, White flowering crabapples. Trees are bench grafted 1/4-3/16 inch diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
