Keepsake was developed by the University of Minnesota in 1978. It is one of the parents of Honeycrisp. The apples have a full rich flavor, and a juicy crisp texture. The combination of good flavor and disease-resistance makes it a great apple to plant in northern backyards. USDA Zones 3 through 8, thriving in cold northern climates. Requires a cross-pollinator that blooms around the same time, such as Sweet Sixteen. Trees are bench grafted 1/4-3/16 inch diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
