OUR STORY

Rhode Island Greening apple trees were the go to American cooking apple in colonial times. The Rhode Island Greening apple is a great cooking apple when it’s freshly picked, it is very tart and later as an eating apple as it is stored and mellows until spring. The fruit has green skin and orange blush. The Rhode Island Greening apple is firm, rich, juicy, greenish-yellow flesh with tart, refreshing, pleasantly acid flavor. One of the best pie apples and excellent for fresh eating. Grows in USDA zones 4-10. Blooms midseason and is sterile. Plant Grimes Golden, Liberty, or White Pearmain for pollination.
