The Red Devil apple is a dessert variety famous for its deep scarlet skin and pink-stained internal flesh. Developed in Kent, England in 1975 by breeder Hugh Ermen as a cross between the Discovery and Kent varieties, it has earned a reputation as one of the best-flavored red-fleshed apples available. Excellent for fresh eating, it is also highly sought after for juicing because it naturally yields a vibrant, tart pink apple juice.It is heavily self-fertile ,meaning it will successfully set fruit without needing a companion pollinizer tree nearby. Blooms mid season. Grows in USDA zones 5-9. Trees are bench grafted 1/4-3/16 inch diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
