OUR STORY

Originated in Europe in the 17th century before being brought to Canada's St. Lawrence Valley by French immigrants. Grown by and was a favorite of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. Crisp, juicy, and rich, featuring a sweet-tart taste with complex, aromatic nutty undertones. Primarily eaten fresh as a dessert apple, though it is also historically favored in cider blends. Requires a self-fertile variety to pollinate. Consider Grimes Golden or White Pearmain as self-fertile pollinators. Trees are bench grafted 1/4-3/16 inch diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
