This variety originates from Central Asia's original apple forest
Niedzwetzkyana originates from central Asia’s original apple tree forests. It’s the source of all red fleshed apples. High in acid, mildly sweet and dryish-fleshed. It is red-skinned with bright red flesh. Grows in USDA zones 5-9. Blooms early and needs another blooming tree for pollination. Makes red cider. Grafted on mm111 rootstock.
