OUR STORY

The Harrison Cider Apple is a famous 18th-century American heirloom cider variety originating from Essex County, New Jersey. Celebrated in 1817 by fruit writer William Coxe as a premier hard cider apple, it was thought to be extinct before being rediscovered in 1976. The flesh is yellow, firm; pleasant to eat fresh. Harrison apple juice makes a dark, rich cider. The Harrison apple is scab resistant, and stores well. Harrison apples are considered the best for cider. Grows in USDA zones 5-9. Blooms midseason and requires another variety blooming at same time for pollination.
