OUR STORY

Gnarled Chapman Cider Apple was discovered in Hector, NY by Eric Shatt of Redbyrd Cider. Eric named his find after John “Appleseed” Chapman. The fruit; is a true bittersweet seedling. Mild tannins that are not overly bitter, and balanced with a mild sweetness. Great cider apple. Blooms midseason and is self-fertile. Trees are bench grafted 1/4-3/16 inch diameter and 1 1/2 to 2 feet tall when shipped.
