The sight of a large bundle of sticks makes something in our biological makeup smile. We can weave fences, baskets, and homes from them. We can start fires, make mulch, and fashion tools from sticks. Even the album cover of a man with a bundle of sticks on his back added to the mystique of the fourth album from Led Zeppelin. We humans are natural born stick collectors.
